I’m doing the exact same thing with my Heng Long Tiger. My motors are about 1900 Kv and have a 3.17mm shaft – I’ve had trouble finding pinions but I think I finally have a solution. Anyway, I also got all the hardware from Hobby King. Did you ever put the turret back on, and if so, how are you controlling the turret and gun elevation motors. I was never too happy with the stock turret elevation system anyway.

Hello! Very nice brushless setup you have here. Were the motors fit right in or you have to drill new holes to fit into the gearboxes?

You can use higher Kv motor, but i imagine that it makes ‘fine control’ very hard. Alternatively you can use 3S lipo battery, that will increase speed about 33% (i used 2s LiPo).

@qwert0091 sweet!, could you put a higher kv motor in the tank or would it be too hard on the motor

(370L size, 24mm diameter, 45mm length, 2mm shaft, 3750Kv) from hobbyking.
As you see it turned out to be quite fast (2x of original speed), if you want more realistic speed then choose slower motor.
Original motor has 2,3mm shaft and 0,6mod pinion. For brushless you have to get 2mm 0,6mod pinion. You can get it from RW racing.
